Science with Aurora
Hi - Aurora here. If you're new to Supercharged Science, you are probably curious about my online science program, what we cover, who teaches the program, and basically how the program works.
My online science program is a video-based, hands-on science curriculum program jam-packed with experiments taught by engineers and scientists, and we cover physics, chemistry, life science, biology and earth science for K-12. The program is a "go at your own pace" curriculum, so your kids will stay challenged and excited all year long.
New this year are the live, interactive classes taught each week where your kids by Aurora (me!) where your kids can personally interact, ask questions, and participate in engineering challenges. I am personally teaching entire program step-by-step in my weekly live online lessons, so you don't have to. I do all the lesson planning, preparing, scheduling, and question-answering, and most of the projects use commonly available everyday items you probably already have.
Here's a video that will walk you through the details:
What kind of program is it?
Think of my curriculum as an educational consultant who's got a big background of experience to draw from. I'm a teacher, just like you, who has spent many years in P-16 classrooms. In fact, I first got my start teaching engineering at Cal Poly State University at age 21. So I know how prepared kids need to be when they hit college. And this program was designed out of a burning passion to meet that need and make a difference in the world.
Does your program REALLY work?
The e-Science science program is the best online learning program, bar none. No ridiculous cartoon animations, video games disguised to be "educational", or watered-down science experiments. Every science activity, project, and experiment has been used in classrooms, teaching real kids science for over a decade before they ever came to you. Your kids will be making real science projects, from beginner level through advanced like the underwater robots, linear accelerators, hovercraft, and much more as they learn about the real world around them.
When I first started teaching science, I researched and ordered every science curriculum I could get my hands on. This included textbooks and out-of-the-box lab kits also. I called up each curriculum provider and asked every question I could think of about how to teach science, who developed their program, and how they figured out what kids needed.
As a teacher, I don't want my curriculum designed by people with a PhD in marketing or sales. What I really care about is "can this course help me teach my kids in a way that lasts long-term?"
And have the people who developed this content personally taught science before? How many kids have they taught? What were the students like before and after the kids worked through the course? How much of an impact did the course make on the way students learn, and can they handle new stuff in the future long after the course is done? Most education companies are not in the curriculum business because they were passionate about educating kids. They are in it because it's a business.
Inspiring kids from the inside out
Most science curriculum providers charge a LOT for their textbooks and curriculum programs and still don't include everything my online science program does. And most companies don't includes support, let alone unlimited support with any and all science questions.
At best, other online programs are long screen-fuls of text with partial instructions, animations better suited for Saturday morning cartoons, and "educational" video games that defy the laws of physics. They are NOT real science learning.
When I called other curriculum publishers, I was absolutely floored to learn that most companies sourced their experiments from other books, and not one of them had tested them out first before included it in their published curriculum! Not one of them had actually tried any of the experiments, but rather copied them from elsewhere. (And there were several who did have any real science experiments whatsoever.)
Sadly, most science curriculum courses fall way short of the target. If your kids have been frustrated, bored, or struggled with their science curriculum, you might have had a similar experience.
Which is why I developed the most outstanding online science program ever. I knew I had to do something to help out not only other kids, but also the family. Parents who want more for their kids, but weren't exactly sure of how to go about it.
My online e-Science program is designed to teach your kids REAL science. Period. The e-Science program is built by real teachers and scientists, not curriculum designers with stacks of PhDs and not one iota of actual experience in teaching. My company, Supercharged Science, is here to get kids crazy-wild about science.
I always include a full Unconditional Happiness Money-Back Guarantee because I am here to support your commitment to your student's education and want you to see what our programs can really do for your students.
What this means is that you can test drive the e-Science program risk-free for the first 30 days.
No strings attached. Try out the program: do the experiments, download the lesson plans, and if you're not totally amazed by how much science your kids are learning, you'll get a full refund.
What this really means is that you won't lose sleep over the cost because we'll handle it if it doesn't work out. I'm not after a one-time sale but a life-long solution for your students. You shouldn't have to pay for something that isn't working for you.
No time or skill to teach science?
No problem. I've done all the work for you. Each study unit includes lesson plans, objectives and goals, highlights and key concepts, vocabulary, lesson plans, discussion and development, experiments and activities, troubleshooting and going further ideas, evaluation and exercises, and a place to ask questions and get back answers.
You can use the e-Science program in one of two ways: you can either go through the material first and then deliver it in your own style, or you can can set your kids up with the program to learn on their own. You don't even need to be a science teacher.
Your students will be teaching YOU science because the e-Science Learning Program includes instructional step-by-step videos that any K-12th grade student can follow. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth even more. 70% of our families who have struggled with written directions consider this part to be the most valuable component of the program.
I've done the heavy lifting for you. What this means to you is that you will have more time to spend on the things you really want to do instead of sitting at a computer screen all day long, searching for experiments and trying to decipher confusing directions.
Why should I go with your program? You only cover science.
The e-Science program is all about science because a total immersion program is the most effective way to master a subject. Most science, engineering, and technology fields have their roots in the biggest building blocks in the science field: Physics and Chemistry, which is what you'll find at the core of my program. This program is designed by real scientists and educators that are experts in this area.
What this means is that means you can rest assured your students are learning exactly what they should be without you having to fuss over the details. The e-Science program exceeds national standards: Which Standards are Met by e-Science?
Teachers that work through our e-Science Learning Program get a front-row seat in aeronautics, electromagnetism, chemistry, robotics, lasers, optics, astronomy, engineering, renewable energy, and more by really doing science. The videos cover step-by-step instructions on how to build hovercraft, battery-free radios, solar-powered robots, underwater vehicles, and so much more. There's also a section on how to fly a real airplane by taking your first flight lesson!
Who is the science program for?
My online science program is for anyone interested and excited to do real hands-on science.
My online e-Science program has two levels: K-8 and 9-12 (which also includes K-8, as many students have gaps not noticed until high school that need to be covered). You can sign up for an annual enrollment, or month-to-month.
You don't need to even have time to teach science.
You don't even need to have a science background. You don't even have to like science. You just need to know how important this area of study is for your kids to master.
Once you enroll in the program, you can go through it at your own pace. Start with the fundamentals and work your way through the program, taking your time with newer subjects and projects that you're really interested in.
Here are a few questions to consider: In your opinion...
- How important is it to 'see what's out there' in the science field? On a scale of 1 to 10?
- Have you seen your students gravitate to a certain area in science already?
- What if there was another area they haven't been exposed to in the right way?
- What would that be worth to for your students to have this opportunity?
- What would your students miss out on if they never found their true passion?
How expensive is it?
Most science courses are more expensive than the e-Science program because they require full-year agreements or charge per course and per student.
When you enroll in my program, you select the grade level (K-8 or 9-12) that your students are at. It's one enrollment per household, so if you have students in both levels, opt for the highest level as the Grades 9-12 includes K-8. You can enroll annually or monthly. Both options include a full money-back guarantee.
I've made a special effort to use low-cost materials in most of the experiments, so you can easily obtain these supplies in bulk in your local area. If you browse through the shopping lists, you'll find most of the materials are found at the grocery store, office supply store and hardware store, because you shouldn't have to spend a fortune learning science.
You can cancel the program anytime - no agreements or cell-phone-type contracts (boy, I really hate those!) And most other programs charge additional fees for support or other hidden "extras".
Here's the fine print for my program: The high school program will require a reference textbook for the year of study (a high school or college textbook in Physics and Chemistry will be of great help). You will also need to purchase materials for the unit you choose to study. How many supplies you need depends on how often you choose to do science. Typically students do science 1-3 times per week, but again, it's totally up to you. Here is a sample shopping list for you to review.
How does the program work?
You can go through the program at your own pace, pick and choose topics you're interested in, or have me teach science to your kids on a regular basis within a basic structure, just like a master teacher would do with her students.
If you want to participate in the more structured format, it looks like this: We cover one science concept each lesson, and students start their lab work in class, and finish up their experiments at home. They will be given several different lab options, so they can pick the one that they have materials for.
Subject-wise, we start with physics of motion, move onto light, optics, electricity, magnetism, and then add in chemistry labs. This forms the fundamental level for most areas of science, and I've done all the planning for you, prepared all the lessons, even developed design challenges for kids to work through and participate in. This forms the first half of the "school year" (and it can start anytime you wish to begin).
The second half is all about application of those science concepts. We cover applied science areas, including mechanical engineering, aerospace, astronomy, geology and planetary sciences, renewable energy, biology and life science during this part of the program. Science concepts are covered at the start of each lesson, and students work on their labs and projects independently, including their science journals, engineering notebooks, and science experiments.
Each of these blocks of study includes downloadable student worksheets, exercises, labs, and a final review. You can preview the schedule in the sample Academic Planner here. We also do monthly stargazing, live interactive Q&A sessions, and flight lessons in a real airplane!
New this year are the design challenges students get to participate in as well as a real Science Fair. Both of these help kids develop the confidence, diligence, and perseverance they need to grow into strong, happy, critically-thinking adults who love to learn.
What if kids ask me questions I can't answer?
That's why I offer Unlimited Support for as long as you need it because I am committed to your long-term success and not here to sell you a one-time solution.
Ever get stuck halfway through a project, and wish you could just ask the author or creator of the program a question? Yep, me too!
This means you're now off the hot-seat with having to come up with all the answers. I encourage kids to contact me as a part of taking charge of their own education. What this really means is that your student is now finding their answers to their questions, freeing up your mind for more important things. Families that encourage kids to utilize this part of the program report having kids that much more confident, empowered, and struggle less when they hit obstacles along the way.
Are you ready to get serious about learning science?
I don't know if this is the right program for you and your family. The best way I can think of to know the answer to "Will this work for me?" question is to actually have you TRY IT. So here's what I suggest - sign up for the program, and really take it for a test drive. Do all the experiments, watch the lessons, download the worksheets, and really do everything to get all you can out of the program. And then, before the month's up, you'll really have a good feel for if this program is a good fit or not. If it's not a good fit, just let me know within the first 30 days, and you'll get a full and complete refund - and there's nothing to send back. No hoops, no hassles.
If you've been using a science program with lukewarm experiments (or none at all), you already know that you're missing out on what could be the best part of your child's education. The wonder, the excitement, the curiosity... it's all in there. You will miss out if you use a program you know to be second-best, so I invite you to test-drive my e-Science Learning program risk-free for 30-days.
