This experiment is for advanced students. It’s time for the last lesson of mechanics. After all this time, you now have a good working knowledge of the rules that govern almost all movement on this planet and beyond!! This lesson we get to learn about things crashing into one another!! Isn’t physics fun?! We are going to learn about impulse and momentum.

There is an easy way to explain momentum, this example is a sledgehammer hitting a wall. You need a lot of MOMENTUM to get it going, but once you do, look out! When it hits the wall, the momentum is transferred into that wall. So we see that the sledge is trying to move that wall out of the way, thus causing thing to really move!

Yes you can find them in the advanced physics section of the course here: https://www.sciencelearningspace2.com/grade-levels/advanced-projects-2/
Do you have practice examples of impulse and momentum?
This experiment is available to folks with upper level K-12 access to the program. You can upgrade your account anytime – just give us a call and we’ll get that set up for you!
I want to do this experiment why cant I?:(
This experiment that you posted to has several practical examples of momentum, but you can also look here at the Gauss Rifle and also here at the Tennis Ball Launcher and Rocket Launcher.
